چکیده

In this paper we present a construction of Kari-Culik aperiodic tile set — the smallest known until now. With the help of this construction, we prove that this tileset has positive entropy. We also explain why this result was not expected.

ADK Entropy and ADK Entropy Rate in Irreducible- Aperiodic Markov Chain and Gaussian Processes

In this paper, the two parameter ADK entropy, as a generalized of Re'nyi entropy, is considered and some properties of it, are investigated. We will see that the ADK entropy for continuous random variables is invariant under a location and is not invariant under a scale transformation of the random variable. Furthermore, the joint ADK entropy, conditional ADK entropy, and chain rule of this ent...

Penrose tiling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Penrose tiling is a nonperiodic tiling generated by an aperiodic set of prototiles named after Roger Penrose, who investigated these sets in the 1970s. Because all tilings obtained with the Penrose tiles are non-periodic, Penrose tilings are considered aperiodic tilings.[1] Among the infinitely many possible tilings there are two that possess both mirror symmetry and fivefold rotational symme...

Aperiodic Colorings and Tilings of Coxeter Groups

We construct a limit aperiodic coloring of hyperbolic groups. Also we construct limit strongly aperiodic strictly balanced tilings of the Davis complex for all Coxeter groups.

Local Rules for Computable Planar Tilings

Aperiodic tilings are non-periodic tilings characterized by local constraints. They play a key role in the proof of the undecidability of the domino problem (1964) and naturally model quasicrystals (discovered in 1982). A central question is to characterize, among a class of non-periodic tilings, the aperiodic ones. In this paper, we answer this question for the well-studied class of non-period...

A Modification of the Penrose Aperiodic Tiling

From black and white linoleum on the kitchen floor to magnificent Islamic mosaic to the intricate prints of M.C. Escher, tilings are an essential component of the decorative arts, and the complex mathematical structure behind them has intrigued scientists, mathematicians, and enthusiasts for centuries. Johannes Kepler, most famous for his laws of planetary motion, was known to have been interes...
